Rollerquest's Inaugural
Easter Egg Shuffle
YOU
are personally invited to participate in the Inaugural RollerQuest Easter
Egg Shuffle. This event is designed for ALL skaters regardless of level of
ability, or the speed in which you skate!
If you can skate along
the trail, and around the loop at BWI (approx 11 miles) - then you won't
want to miss this fun event! Meet and greet with fellow
skaters, and test your communication and "egg handling skills" while skating
with a team. Prizes go to each member of the winning team. All finishers
have a chance to win raffle prizes!
Meet At: BWI Loop Parking Lot
(Observation Area)
Date: Sunday, April 5, 2009
Time: 2:00PM
How does the event
work?
-
Skate teams will be
randomly created based upon the number of attendees
-
Specially marked eggs
will be handed out. It's fragile - so hold it gently!
-
Wear something YELLOW!
-
All teams will start
at the same time - promptly at 2:15PM
-
In the event of a tie,
we will have a special tie breaker
-
All members of a skate
team MUST skate together in a line (pack skating) for the entire LOOP
around the airport.
-
The skaters in the
pack must change to a new "leader of the pack" and shuffle the eggs at 9
designated intervals, marked on the path
-
The eggs must be
passed while skating
-
WRIST GUARDS and helmets are REQUIRED to participate;
all gear is highly
encouraged
The Egg Shuffle: The lead
skater does not hold an EGG. At each interval, when the pack leader, with
no EGG, rotates to the rear, becoming the caboose skater, the other skaters
begin passing EGGS backward, so that the new lead skater does not hold an
EGG. Once each skater, with the exception of the lead skater, holds one EGG
a shuffle is complete.
