Take 295 South. Once in DC, pass the Pennsylvania Ave East exit, then take the next exit, Howard Road. Get in the left lane and turn left at the light at the end of the ramp. Turn left at the first light and merge onto 295 north, immediately bear right to get onto 395. Stay toward the left, then stay in the three left lanes, preferably in the rightmost of the three left lanes. Stay on 395 until you go over a bridge over the Potomac, and take the exit at the end of that bridge, Potomac Park. Take a right at the end of the ramp. Go to a stop sign, go straight and then start looking for parking. You want to park between that stop sign and the next stop sign by the bathroom. Be sure to read the signs where you park regarding what hours you are allowed to park there. There is plenty of parking all along the road, but this part is where the skaters usually meet.
To leave, go to the stop sign by the bathroom and turn left. Go straight through the next stop sign, then bear right at the end of the road. Bear right at the next road, and merge left onto 395. Follow that to Pennsylvania Ave. Once on Pennsylvania Ave, get in the left lane and turn left at the next light to get back onto 295 north.

From 695 Beltway: Take Dulaney Valley Road N. Cross over the bridge and bear right at route intersection where Jarrettsville Pike breaks off to the left. Stay right, on Dulaney Valley Road. Pass the golf course. Go past the old restaurant, stay to the right and go further up to the closed gate area for parking and skate between the gates. The road is closed to traffic between the gates.
MARYLAND RAIL TRAIL

To reach the
Eastern portion of the Western Maryland Rail Trail from I70: Take exit 12. Turn left at top of ramp toward Big Pool
(approximately ½ mile). The trail
parking lot is on the right across the street from the post office.
To reach the Center of the Western Maryland Rail Trail from I70: Take Exit Three into Hancock. Turn right on MD 144; stay straight for about a mile and a half. Go past Burger King and look for the parking lot on the left. There is a brown Western Maryland Rail Trail sign at the entrance. This is a metered lot , so bring at least 8 quarters. Additional parking is available at the FREE lot right before the Park-n-Dine restaurant. It is labeled as a State Highway Park and Ride as well as a brown and white sign that says Western MD Rail Trail. At the far end of the lot is a paved access to the trail. However you will have to walk across about 30 feet of crushed stone surface to get to the path. If you park here skate west to the other lot, where the skate will begin.

From BW Parkway (295): Take 295S to Powder Mill Road. Turn left at the stop sign. Drive less than ¼ mile, make a right onto Springfield Road (at the building on the left marked 9200). Continue past three green water towers, go past Beavers Dam Road. Make a right onto Lanham Severn Road. Turn left onto GlenDale Boulevard (193E). Continue for about ½ mile to the fire department on the left, turn right into GlenDale Community Center (across the street from the firm department). Turn left in the parking lot and park near the WBA path access.
